Summer Parking & Transit Information

Any students with a commuter parking permit can park in any commuter parking area. Any students with a residential parking permit can park in any residential parking area. Any students with a GA permit can park in any commuter parking area or residential parking area. Students being housed in Herbert Hall may park in the IED gravel lot (Commuter East area) behind Herbert. This enforcement will continue throughout the end of the 2012 summer terms.

Normal shuttle routes will end on May 11, 2012 at 5:30 PM. The Blue Route will operate until Friday, June 1, 2012 at 5:30 PM.

Information for Fall 2011

  1. ZONE CHANGES: The west side of Hardy Street has been changed to South Zone (except the 2 upper bays near McComas Hall for Staff). The east side of Hardy Street remains Commuter East Zone.
  2. Any valid parking permit may park in the Palmerio Center lot or the Coliseum lot (parking lot between the Sanderson Center and the Humphrey Coliseum).
  3. The shuttles service the Coliseum stop with 3 shuttles routes, which are the Maroon, Purple, and Express.
  4. All vehicles must have a valid parking permit displayed properly.
  5. Commuters may park in any commuter zone after 3 p.m.
  6. Any vehicle with a valid MSU permit may park in any legal space after 5 p.m., except in spaces designated Handicap, Exclusive Service, Service Parking, or Reserved. Vehicles must be in designated parking area at 7 a.m. the following day.
  7. We now offer designated motorcycle parking spaces that are strategically placed throughout the campus. Motorcycles will no longer be allowed to park at bicycle racks. Motorcycles may park in designated motorcycle parking areas or any valid parking space on campus and must obey all state laws. Registration of your motorcycle permits must be completed in person at the Parking Services office, located in the Roberts Building. Designated motorcycle parking areas are located on the parking map.

Metered Parking

Any vehicle utilizing metered parking must insert coins (5¢, 10¢, or 25¢). All metered parking is enforced from 7a.m. to 5p.m. Monday-Friday. Max time allowed is 45 minutes for a total of 50¢

Visitor Parking & Departmental Visitors

Welcome to Mississippi State University! Parking Services offers complimentary visitor passes for your first visit to campus. Each additional visit would be $2 per day. You may visit our office at the Roberts Building (same building as Burger King) on Monday thru Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

We offer complimentary visitors passes to be sent to the departments at their request in advance before the departmental visitors come to campus. You may contact the Office of Parking Services at 662-325-3526 or 662-325-2661 or via email at parkingservices@msstate.edu.

Complimentary visitor passes are for the visitors (not faculty, staff, or student) to our campus. This pass allows them to park in any legal staff, commuter or residential parking space. If a visitor parks at a meter, they must obey the rules of the meters and must insert the required coins (5¢, 10¢, or 25¢).
